i saw the 55+55+29=140 thread and it interests me . i was thinking about doing this before i saw the thread i've been wanting to get a larger tank to house my cichlids and give them enough to be comfortable and still reach their large size like most south american cichlids do. so my over all goal is to build a tank that is 100+ gallons as they say with cichlids the bigger the better. i currently have a 40 breed and a 29 gallon tanks. im also limited one space so biulding and extreme tank will be difficult for me to do . i was thinking of maybe combine 3 29s or 3 40 breeds . the measurements for the 29 in total will be 90" x 13x 18 and be 98 gallons or for the 40 it will be 9'x18"x17" and be 120 gallons . i was wondering if any one has tried this before and if so the best way to build if with out sacrificing the strength of the tank after its finished.

Main point is to brace the top and bottom of all the tanks good together(one big frame with braces), especially in the joints.. Rater from that i dont see any issue.

In your case tho, i would just sell the small once, and buy a bigger one(100g+). would look 1000 times cleaner. Just my opinion tho.
