I am planning on doing a DIY tank. I notices in some pictures people have bolt through the glass and some dont. I think if you drill holes that is just another spot for it to leak. Give me your opinions on that. Next I want to know what others have used on the inside to seal over the plywood. I have heard liquid rubber and fiberglass. What have others used.

In most of the cases I have seen where glass has been drilled it is acrylic. Silicone doesn't stick to it very well. But I agree that I would create new areas to leak. To water proof my tank I used several layers of fiberglass sheeting with marine epoxy and then several more layers of sweetwater epoxy to add color.
