you need the drag set high for the halfpound lures their chucking. I am a big beleiver in the figure 8. It has helped me land lots of fish.

I use the 8 for every kinda a fish. I always watch my bait closely when its next to the boat. Alot of fish hit when its there.

Thats like cheating. You know the world record for 4lb test (not 40) is over 100lbs.

every serious musky angler are using big equipment because they want to give all the best chance for a good released, short fight=less stress, less acid in the muscle=happy fish.behind this killer face musky still one of the most easiest fish to kill if you dont know how to proceed

Thats an awesome vid. I've never actually caught a muskie with the figure eight, but have had many strikes. Great technique for those fearless monsters.

You dont want the fish to win. If it breaks the line, it gets to swim around with a 1 lb crankbait stuck in its jaw. That would make for difficult eating.

I've never used the Figure 8 approach, but I usually fish for Sunfish or stocked trout and they will nail anything that gets in their face.

I think that guy was saying "Hoose yer Daddy?"

I think the smell of that sandwich on the fat man's finger's and him handling that lure is the secret to the figure 8.. :naughty:
