what are the dimensions?? Ill go with arowanas... go with black if the budget permits.. get a pbass.. they get real big and they arent expensive when bought as juvies... there a ton of options out there and they dont have to be expensive fishes too..

if youre into pims there are several cats that you can get like a jurense ..tsn..

ur list would be good for someone who has $500 to blow out of their ass :P

1 large CA cichlid (mang, trimac, devil/midas, mota, etc), 1 medium CA cichlid (JD, salvini, nicaraguense), and then a couple african cichlids of ur choice.

p45 chill dude. why you asulting the man. Dude go with a managuense or two maybe peacock bass these alll sugestions by the way and i aint recomending them all at one time altho you can sometimes get away with two pairs of fish in that tank or a decent amount of other fish not breeding. polleni small spot or large spot , arrows are cool . If you get arrows when small they dont cost as much. You could get a silver arowana. for like under 50 bucks i see small ones goin for 15 localy other places probly more. Catfish could go with a tsn for a good while, tigrinis cats, lima shovelnose cats, b.juernse catfish. midas, jack dempsee texas cichlid , flowerhorns way to many to list

If you're looking for something inexpensive, to me a school of 6-8 Red belly Pacus and a Red Tail Catfish, South American of course, would be a very enjoyable set up. I currently have this set up myself. The best part is that they are all tough as nails and will have no problem with eating.

LOL isnt a 180g only 2' wide?? If he cant afford dat's or other expensive fish I dont think he'll be upgrading to a tank big enough to house a RTC and 6 pacu's any time soon.......

please dont recomend cichla for a 180 gallon tank.

I suggest a pair of Jag cichlids.

if they were fullsized jumbo jags ide agree. but it gonna be hard for him to find large jags. He should do pair of jags and pair of dovi cave at each end. and see how it works i bet it can be done

Don't know if you care, but I'd use it for a Loach tank...
I got 3 Clown loaches that are 8-9" and another 4 that are over 5"... I always thought it would be cool to do a driftwood/river tank with huge loaches and such...
Just my idea of something to do with it.

Hey- dowhacha like.

do you want predatorial fishes or just simple nice ones?:screwy:

not to offend anyone in this forum but if you do... only if you do... have some spare $$$ you can start with dats. you need to give us a budget... for some $500 is small for some it's big. :)

if i had the space for one more 180 gal i would do a planted tank with angle fishes, neon tetras, corydoras, and some nice colorful loaches... one more thing is to get some exotic pleco after you have saves some more $$$. its more of a variety of semi-agressive to peaceful fishes. :)

You know, seriously, a 180 would be great for 6 yellow perch, a pair of large bluegills and maybe 3 yellow bullheads.

Channels are better lookin than Bullheads I think... They get bigger but it takes a while...

They are better looking IMO, but the bullheads work in a 180g for life.
