Just from the photo I would guess both ich and a secondary fungus infection, there is another thread in this forum discussing the same thing. Check it out and remember that raising the temp. slowly to around 85 and adding salt is a fairly safe treatment that works well for a lot of external parasites. You can also scan past posts on this forum for those mentioning salt treatments or ich.

My fungus spots look just like the bigger fluffier ones in those pictures. Although none of my fish have nearly that many spots they have much the same appearance. Like Guppy said, check out the thread I started, there is some good info in there.

try any of the anti fungal remedies at your local lfs. that is fungus for sure. do large scale water changes and vacuum your gravel regularly. raise temp to 85-86' and wait it out. as long as you catch it soon and keep the aquarium well cared for and clean it should subside.

Centralmayhem, they need to keep you in a bigger tank.
The small uniform white spots make me think there is also ich there, could be just my eyes.

Try the salt remedy that guppy just gave. That should work . Make sure your water is clean and that the pleco is not being bothered by its tankmates. Let us know how it goes ..

hahahaha. hey man just because they can now say they have kept great whites in captivity dont mean thell ever be able to keep THIS MONSTER in a cage. but hey im sure that it would help a lot of fish sleep better at night if they did. haha

the fuzz has gotten worse and now he has some fin rot. i tryed for two days higher temps and salt without results. two days ago he was moved to a tank all his own and i have been useing pimafix. he must really be suffering because he let me hold him and rubsome of the fungus off. should i keep the temp up and the salt up?
the pimafix dosn't seem to be working should i use melafix?

On the ich or fungus thread in this forum 13u11he4d recommends melafix and primafix at the same time and removing any charcoal first, no mention of salt though.
