Tarpon and large mouth bass.
Gotta be Thompson river steelheads, They're over 20lbs and have more muscle than any other fish around here. Basically a Rainbow trout that spent a few years in the gym on steriods:headbang2
Nothing like seeing them go airborn, they'll strip 100ft of line in the blink of an eye, I've been freight trained more than once by these guys.
Sturgeon are a blast too, but more for the sit around and BS type days, with the occasional couple hundred pound fish in between drinks ;)

Sunfish, what a fighter and if you find the right spot you can fight them all day. I love yanking up croaker too! Ask my Dad and he will say its the time he fought the 5 foot dogfish for close to a half hour.

spider crabs are not fish...that is true, but i enjoy catchin 'em on rod 'n reel.;) just a thin strip of squid on a long shank hook and ur in business.....need like 100lb test if ur in the rocks though, but off the beach, 15lb will suffice:)

I like catching anything that swims, but Striped Bass fishing has made me: broke, loose friends, made my wife pissed at me, missed parties and arrangements and corrupted my mind!

I would say the hardest fighting fish that I have ever caught would be the Bat Ray. Never tried/never will try to eat them, but there are a lot of them, they get big, and they CAN spool you in a heartbeat.

fallfish are my favorite, They fight just as hard as anything else and once you catch one you will keep catching them. Like little tarpon for us here in the northern parts of the us.
