They are hanging out at the top of the tank. Are they not kind of a midwater lurker? Also from the (apparently lame) websites said they did well in any water. From what i have seen here it should be lower Ph High temp?

Higher temp, lowish pH, (no higher than 7.5), and lots of feedings. Also, due to the high temp the water should be well aerated. Congrats on the purchase :)

6 months maybe? Realistically you have probably til the get 12" or so to upgrade maybe more, depends on your ethics.

As far as ghost shrimp, well it now says darter... It's just a fun way of marking your level of activity here.

six moths to 10"!!! fast growing. My oscar took a year to get that size and i fed him like crazy (1 red bellied piranna and 1 oscar 30 to 40 feeder goldfish plus shrimp, crickets what ever else they would eat a week!)

6 months is probably the quickest, could take longer but there isn't an "approximate" baby pbass tend to "fill out" and then start to grow length wise.

I'd say 6-8 months... Just feed them once a week... then they grow slower... If you bought these to sell... good luck... who wants a 8" peacock for $40....? I'll sell one for $1 just to get rid of it..lol. No one wants big farm breds! Don't buy to sell an try to make money! Not worth it! You feed more than you'd profit!

you shouldnt feed oscars feeders, the fats are good for them. but pbass on the other feeders are great.

:iagree: but that goes for pretty much any fish unless it's extremely rare. People can deal with buying a fish that's 3-6" easier than buying a already large fish that requires a large space from day one. Since alot of people are buying fish with the "I'll upgrade later" intention. Some do, and some don't but that's another subject.

:iagree: Most buy in the intent to upgrade... most don't! Then they gotta try to find homes for them.... Especially when most are stock LFS pbass that most can but for $10 or less...... Why big when you can buy small or wilds....?

You're not "wrong", it's just a difference in opinion. Some swear by feeders and others dispise them. It's really for you to to decide what you believe. :)
