I am posting this for a Buddy, since his tank has a frog, Ill give it a shot here, If I am in the wrong place help me out, I am a Cichlid guy and have never heard of such a thing!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~
Hi.
I have a 20H tank.
The residents of this tank are,
red minor serpae tetra,
tiger barbs,
african dwarf frog,
otocinclus catfish.
The tank has been up for about two or three months.
I have recently discovered an uninvited guest. At the bottom of the tank,on the glass.
not on the fish. There are very very small white specs that move like ants. It is not debris.
The specs bump into each other, back up and go around each other. Also they tend to cluster. My question is what is it? Is it harmful ? What do I do about it.
Any help??
Thank you in advance!!
Sounds like planeria worms (sp?). They themselves are harmless to your fish and frog but they usually only appear when a tank is over fed.
I would do a 50% water change and check parameters. And of course STOP OVER FEEDING! :)
Nah they wont eat them. But as long as the feeding problem stops they will disapear by themselves.
I agree, tell him to give the tank a few day fast and do a water change and it should clear up.
Nope there is no getting rid of them. They live in EVERY tank but stay un-noticed until there is an over abundance of food for them to have a population explosion. ;)
