Just because something is a cross doesnt mean you should just kill the thing! Have some heart, its obviously already alive and possibly happy. Its not the fishies fault! :swear:

I (as a multi flowerhorn and multi blood parrot owner) have to admit thats a rather fugly fish IMO -defenetly not something Id want in my collection.But if its someones beloved pet ...well then ,thats cool then .Personally I have a fondness for certain fish some would call ugly and not worth keeping (lol just check out my avatar :grinyes: plenty have told me theyd never want an 'ugly monter' like that).But that poor thing looks like he got the 'short end of the stick ' a bad cross between bp and golden fh :uhoh: .Just my 2 cents tho

well, my two cents....

i personally only do the hybrid "thing" with my orchids... as fer critters, i stick to species... i understand there is a place for hybrids because of varied interests, but i also just think about those goofy bubble-eyed goldfish and am reminded that the hybridizing can go too far!

by the way, vicious, do you actually have one of those gouramis?? and, isnt the species name osphronemus (spelling ?)? i have seen a few in stores before, but were alot smaller... have never actually seen a mature one in person....

I think the issue of having such strange hybrid fishes is that it is one of the kind in this world..once you have one in your collection, u are rest assured there is no one else having another one looking the same..

nah ,Mine is a FEMALE rtgg (i was assured by the breeder-females dont get the nice colors like males ) and she does have a orange striped fin .And sorry If I got off the hybrid subject with that ,was only trying to say I like 'ugly' fish :p
