ima hopeing. Now i think my problem gonnabe . I dont have a heater for this two gal and the light aint keeping the tank as warm as it use to. Since the ac is on. It staying at around 72. Ima move it higher off the floor thenn the desk is this afternoon. To keep it warmer. hey new got any old small 50 watter heaters laying around.

Wow Good luck I never had a breeding pair of midas because my male at the time was way to aggressive. Your midas looks great did you get them from a lps or from a private collector?

i got my male at petsmart of all places. And the female at a mom and pops store.
Heres best part today went fishing came home jags layed eggs . woots. I no they fertle the male never shot a dud yet. Now all i need is my female con to drop her eggs she tryign to do. and my tex to finaly get a chance to bust his first one off. Gonna be crazy . can u see me trying to grow three bachs of fry out at once.

I DIDNT KNOW YOU HAD A SUNNY! What type is it and how big is it? is it aggressive, does it hold its own?

i use to have like 5 difrent sunnys yep they mean as my midas was. my big one that is in that pic. use to go toe to toe with my midas and think nothing of it . till midas out grew him . i released all the sunnys back in the creek.i curently have a sunny fry growing out with my fh fry. i got to many fish.

that is awesome. Centrarchids are just north american cichlids.

u should see the sunnys or bluegills ima bout too get.
they got blue on the gill, orange on the breast, silver scale pattern goin down three quarters there side. metalic green o there back. and a hint of purple near there anus

my fishign buddy got sick and didnt show the bastard. Anyhow. I still have bage midas eggs, they havent all turned white yet some have tho. And my jags are doing great job of guarding there eggs right now. Im gonna be setting up a 15 gal this after noon for the eggs of both bachs to go in . raise them all together same tiem be freaking awsom once they start looking like fishys move them all to the 75 or something

Liquid fry number one. its liquid baby fry fishy food. Then you buy number two. Wich is crushed porwder. But instead of number to i take and ether grind flakes to powder or grind up pellets to powder

my baby cichlids always do just fine with crumbled up flakes. i never bothered getting them that baby-food ****.

this is what every top notch lfs around me sugested i get to feed them. asured me it was good for them to help promote a bit faster and healthyer growth. works great so far but what do i no i never didnty use it yet

i duno But thats what they recomended. This time they were out so i got a pack of watter fleas. And a thing of omgega one flakes crushed them into powder

water fleas are pretty easy to breed en masse. Stick em in a bucket, throw a couple drops of that fry food in there, let the bucket sit for a couple weeks and youll have alot of fresh live fish food.
