It might... but I'm not saying anything until they hit at least 3".... When cichla are this small they go through a lot of changes... Around 3-4 inches their body shapes should be pretty much IDable...

As of now... it does have a larger eye, not much of a sloped head... rosettes don't mean anything at that size... So orino, mono or ocellaris... or farm bred! lol When they get a little bigger we'll be able to tell... Odds are Mono/ocellaris... but there were a lot of orinos brought in the past few months... Some people got great deals on orinos!

will do, doesnt matter to me either way, but orino would sure be nice :D
is the larger eye and less sloped head make it seem more mono or orino?

they finished off the cardinals today, so ill have to get feeders tommarow......40 feeder guppies a day for the pack shoudlnt be too bad right? thats $2 a day to keep them fed:eek: $14 a week, and $56 a month.....damn i need a job!!!! but theyr totaly worth it ;)

after they get into the big tank ill work on gettin them on shrimp.....

Dang right they are! :)

I wouldn't toomuch on the shrimp until they hit 6".... You can practice though with worms... if they take those, they should take shrimp.

ya, this is really my first year of ]v[onster type fishkeeping despite 10 years of total fishkeeping experince, and the first time ive been able to use another tank to "growout" some fish for a bigger tank, and i like it :) scicne i got back into the hobby after abandoning the less ]v[onster aspects of it that i was limited to exploring before i recently plunged back in. so when i decied to try agian, it was bichirs that grappled my attention, and it was my ornate, Snr. Puff that sparked the additcion i now have. i statred with a 30 gallon to grow him out in, then i found my 100 gallon for $50 with the stand at a goodwill :) it was prehistoric fish that i was drawn to mostly gars and bichirs. after my bichir and gar (approitatly named Spot) i began loooking for some more attractive middle dwelling fish, i bought a NGT and while i am incredibly satisfied awith him and love him to death (he ONLY eats out of my hands), he didnt fit the bill, being rather reclusive himself. then i began to lean more and more to cichlids in general and specifically cichla, i mean iv always liked them, but never really thought id be raising a small pack of them in my bed room, kinda unreal really:D but walking into my fav LFs and seeing those tems....i just had to have them :headbang2

whi1e only 8 or so months ago i never imagined id have a 100 gallon tank in my bedroom, im finding a need for more and bigger tanks to house my growing ]v[onsters! this hobby does that to you, right when u think uve got all u could ever want, u need more.lol

to cut it short, i think im gonna enjoy watching these baby ]v[onsters grow up :headbang2

I'm gonna say it's either a Mono or an Ocell.
