ok, i have an idea. i want to connect my 64 hex, and my 29 tall. i would like to connect them at the top of the 64 and make the 29 like a bio, for a turtle, with a basking platform and light and such. my question is has anyone done this. i need somepointers.

It might work, but you are going to need to run an overflow and stuff from the 29 into the 64.
 
The only problem I see is the turtle fouling your filtered water that's returning to the tank. If you can get the turtle before the bio media I bet you could make it work .
