I have 2 of them and they are pretty cool fish. My first i got for free as he was left in a bucket at a LFS i deal with. Pretty beat up but he's come around pretty nicely and i just bought another one last week. I paid $14.00 for a 3" guy and he already has Ich in my quarantine tank. All in all they really seem to have the personalitys of both fish. Not as jumpy as a TSN, but not as mellow as a RTC. Alot of people say they grow faster but i havent seen that, my big guy is about 10" and hangs with a similar size RTC. They grow at the same pace, although the hybrid is a much more aggressive eater. I just saw another one at a LFS labled as a TSN and priced at $39.99 they must be "in season". My guess is they will grow to probably 36" in good conditions give or take a foot or two :D

good luck.....

And dont forget you need a REALLY big tank..... BLAH, BLAH, BLAH

The hybrid grows larger than both the TSN and RTC. So i recon 3 foot would be unusually and unhealthily small for an adult. I would put my chips on 5 foot. Someone correct me otherwise. While round here they are more expensive than RTCs but cheaper than TSNs.

I have one I got about 6 months ago or so *late july* anyways it was about 4" when I got it and is now about 13" however its been about same size about 2 months or so before then it grew like mad I could tell week to week. by far one of the coolest cats I have ever owned.

My one is 18" that’s in a year they are a man made fish and designed as a food fish there are reports of them growing to 8 foot, (hybrid vigor growing faster and larger than mum and dad)
Mum and dad have the capability of getting to 5 ft each but to be honest no one knows and if they do they are keeping it quiet at the moment. You will require a big tank or a pond

Thanks for the Plug ethnics. My supplier has them right now, but not sure how long they will last. Get them while I got em. They seem to be ranging from 3-4.5" in length.
