Hello

I am from cold wisconsin, where 0 is high at the moment, i was wondering what is the coldest anyone ever got fish shiped to them and made it. I Called TFD today and he told me that it was to cold to insure that the fish would make it. I am getting a little over $300 in fish so this is a big gamble. I was going to wait until the weather was atleast in the teens. Is having fish shipped in the teens smart or should i put it off until its atleast 50 degrees or so?

some quick advice from someone with experience that would be great!!

Thanks-
Zach

try to use ap to ap, its same day with a way better chance of making it. but i had a fish shipped to me last week. it traveled thru some cold days but i dont kno how cold it was.

TFD shipped mine in that temp :) I am across the country :) He would only ship Airport to airport which was fine with me cause the day before, i received a dead fish through fed ex... Plus the airport to airport was 25.00 cheaper!! Did you ask about that?

yes i would get ap to ap for sure, thats the only way to go, but 300 is a gamble and a half.

Mine was 192.00 :) Delicate Black Arow :) Came from TFD healthy as they come.. My tank even went through a cycle of ich just after and the arow was unaffected :) TFD and Airport to airport are a good combo :)

Plus if the 300.00 shows up dead you only lose shipping he garrauntees airport to airport still doesn't he???

ohh yea, yesterday it was -32 out with wind chill. i was hopeing to wait a little bit because ap to ap goes at night when its cold as hell. and yes at -32 degress there was no schools open. my car almost didnt start for work in the morning. its that cold right now.

Well thats different.. But my temp was 0 to -6 and he garraunteed it :) so i guess i was lucky :) At those temps .. I would wait to :) Not for the fact that the fish wouldn't make it:) I don't know if i would make it to my car.. or from my car to the dorr of the pick up point LOL

ugghhh he told me 50 degrees before he would garrauntee it, what do you think, should i try it out later in the week when it is in the teens?

Maybe he had some problems after my shipment.... And maybe the fish you are ordering are even more delicate than that of which i ordered.. Personally "Good things come to those who wait"

I would not rush off to buy 300.00 in un-garraunteed fish myself... Niether would i suggest anyone to do so... And my experience is limited to two deliveries one of which died in a fed ex overnight trip..

I would wait if it were me.. Especially knowing i had no garrauntee on my cash:(
