i recently changed my white sand to black gravel and i noticed that my pbass seem to look kinda black like the gravel? they used to be so golden, wat happend?

There just doing what fish do, blending into their new surroundings.

so will its real color come back??, im guessing it will after adapting to the new surroundings.

It might or it might not, it just depends. Never really seen any chichla kept on a dark substrate, always light, so I'm not really sure.

Mine were in a natural gravel then moved to black and the color seemed to jump out even more. they will come around just wait till they hit 10" or so! :)

yea mine were always washed out when i had them in a tank with white gravel so i switched to black and the colors came out very bright but mine was about 14 inches so it should come around. GL.

Agree, Black usually seems to bring out the color more.

so there color wont come back till they get older? because they used to be so golden before the black gravel..

With the black, Jardini's bass does look washed out still. I've kept them with "neutral" colors - red, dark blue, stuff like that. Color has been great.
If you liked the gold, keep that gravel.

Well your darker substrate will make them look darker and lighter will make them look lighter. PH and growth over 10" or so is the real things that are going to affect color.
