is clown loach is good tankmate 4
- spotted gar fish
- redtail catfish (baby)
- shovelnose catfish (baby)
- senegal bichir

pls answer..,, need to know if clown loach is ok 4 that type of fish...

i wouldn't recommend putting a loach as most of its tankmates will outgrow it and they will try to eat the poor loach, plus the loach has an opecular spine which is erected whenever it feels endangered, so the loach will be stuck in the gut of whatever fish tries to eat it and they will both either die or be severly injured.

if you got a decent size loach 5+ inches to begin with it should be OK with the senegal, the loach fully grown will be larger, but it takes them along time to get big. My senegal is probably 7-8 inches, and i cant see him eating a 4-5 inch loach, hell it doesnt touch the 2-3 inch gold barbs that are in the tank, and they would be easier to swallow. the other fish would quickly outgrow and swallow the loaches though.

TNX TO all of ur advice!! i try to put tgether in a tank., a senegal nd clown loach.., they dont fight!!., he cnt eat it coz! my loach are very energetic.., alweiz swims.., with speed!.., sow i thnk its gud to put them 2gether with the rtc and tsn..,

RTC will be the most problematic fish. Considering they have a tendency to grow very fast judging by their voracious appetite, the clown loach will be eaten in no time.:( I'd rather only the Senegal bichir will be the proper tankmate for the clown loach. The rest will easily outgrow the poor loach. Not only that, there is too much competition among them and this will reduce the chances of clown loach growing well.

Nope. I agree with earlier posts. When your fish decide to eat the loach, double disaster.
