Just got this guy a couple of days ago and thought I would post some pics. 18'' European Green Eel from a cool guy out in Tennessee :headbang2
It's not to green anymore but sure fills my need. The itch was scratched and I finally got my eel.

 Makes me miss my American Eel

Just make sure that your lid is sealed tight. Even if you read this and say, ehh I'll be alright, no ya' wont, seal it. And if you have a hang on filter, you might want to tape the top of it down. I hade everything sealed up on my tank, but one morning I woke up to find the cover to my filter on the floor and my eel down on the first floor from my second floor tank, he died a few days after.

But these are some great fish, very personable and will eat just about anything. Watching them tear apart food from a big chunk of fish is pretty cool as well. Good luck with your little guy!

I put locking hinge type latches on my tank when keeping these, they can easily push open most tank covers.

out of curiosity how large is he now? and by the way as he stated its not an american eel its a european eel. also know as shortfinned eel. very similar but not the same thing. my largest one was about 42" and about as big around as my wrist when I sold him.
