So far anything that moves get attacked...even floating leaves get whacked occasionally. So what algae eater last long with them.......no pleco pls as i don't like them...mine a lightly plant tank with gravel.....i got couple of tiny resident snails from the plants i bought but they r too slow to do a decent cleaning. I hate chemicals also. My algae situation is not that bad but i hate to see stuff sticking on my glass, i want them crystal clear!! :)

Or you could get one of those magnetic algea scrapers that you just drag up and down over the glass. You wouldn't even have to lift the lid.

i seen those in shops....but there are 4 sides on a tank so how would it work when u wanna clean the adjacent sides....u just drag it across the corner edge and the magnet is powerful enough to pull it through?

Yes the magnet should be strong enough but if u have a thicker glass tank then u should obviously get the bigger and more powerful magnets lah. But why do you want to clean the sides?.. i thought just see from the front can liao...

hey if you feed it and then like give it alot of food until its full then you can clean it i stick my hand in there all the time it doesnt attack me at all bbut i dunno you have 2 i only have 1 so it might be different just make sure there full and then clean it with a rag or somehting or the eraser magnets. but your tank might be cloudy or soemthing because of the algea
hey, were you the one who made that feeding vid of that catfish and put it on Pfury?

I used to have a pair of giant red-lines before the ban. This is the ONLY thing I could use to scrape algae that they didn't rip apart:

Those things are still cute, you can still put your hand in there w/out fear....Once they get to the 16-18" mark then I would tread lightly, but usually if they are well fed they won't bother you, they seem to know their owner well.....I have had several Red Snakeheads and have yet to be bitten, thank goodness... I know someone who was bitten by a 14" still a baby by SH accounts, and it did quite a number on him....

I have the magnetic scraper. The one I have the scrubber in the tank floats when not stuck to the base and the mannets are strong enough to pull it back into place from a few inches away. I taught my 6 year old how to use it so he maintains the glass surface now :headbang2
i have the same problem ,want fish to put whit channa striata she is 25cm and mean
