Finally scored some baby Indos!

I just picked up 11 D. Microlepis and for a hell of a deal too! I got them for less then $40! Thats right all eleven dats for less then $40!!

Anyhow they are doing great and its true that big dats dont eat smaller ones as my 8" and 6" Indos never even looked at them like they were food. Its not cause they are shy either cause the big dats slam any food I put in the tank instantly.
However, my 12" ornate bichir looked like he wanted to snack on them so Ive got them divided up in the tank till they grow a bit.

Check out these pics. I have several with 3 symmetrical bars that could be easily mistaken with D. Pulchers! Most are pretty stable as well.

Hehe I bought ALL the local wholesaler had in stock! Oh and if they get more in they are all mine. LoL hopefully one day Ill be able to trade a bunch of Indos for a nice widebar!

Find me some larger dats and I will. You see I have to sell fish to get fish as the woman says I cant use any more money to buy fish. If you can find me ATFs, Dats (other then these small Indos or small silvers), Tigrinis (I wish), large 5"+ clown loaches, M. Irwini and the stuff I told you last time.

We are seeing a lot of those mini ITs here in Singapore recently. Retails for about USD5 each . Got myself half a dozen recently. Currently keeping them with 2 baby Endicheris birchir in a 2ft tank.

Growth rate pretty slow . 10-12 months perhaps from 1.5inch to 6-7inch.

I no longer have the small dats in with the big ones. However, I move them because I was afraid the 12" bichir would eat them , not the larger dats. The short while I had them together the larger ones never even looked at the smaller ones as food and these larger dats will instantly slam any food I throw in the tank.

Im not going to sell these, well at least untill I can find some pulchers!

Explorer, are you sure about that growth rate? I mean 6" in 10 months sounds very fast for dats.

I have at least three that have split bars and one that has a split on both sides!

So far I have only fed the little ones tiny guppies and they all chowed down on that but when I tried froxen plankton most ate but a few did not. My live black worms get here tomorrow so I hope to fatten them up on that a bit.

Seriously though I need some more dats. I have a total of 13 Indos, now I need some Pulchers, NTTs, and NGTs!!
