Have noticed a real difference in only the last 9 days. One is really pulling away from the other two in terms of growth rate, it's now
10", it was 7" five weeks ago, and eating four earthworms and four large prawns each per day. All three are also starting to lose their timidity, although they spend a lot of time under the floating plants all three swim straight over when I approach the tank and "take me in", the biggest one always being the first of the three.
Unfortunately my pics are from my phone, as my 35mm SLR camera uses film, but I'll get some pics scanned in soon. When taking these pics today, after putting the phone away, the biggest one came over right up to the glass and tilted it's head just enough that I got a good look in it's mouth for the first time. The teeth are enormous, even though they are still under a foot long!!! Now I fully understand people's reservations about moving micropeltes once they are 2 feet or more.

wow.. :) love those snakehead.. i had 2 micropletes 17" and 14".. their growth rate very high.. my 2 giant snakehead only take 5 months to grow from 4inch to 17" and 14".. that pretty fast for me.. :)
i feed them with feeders and frogs since they juvenile.. but it quite expensive and 40 feeders per two days were not enough for them! then i change their diet by feed them with chicken fillet when their size over 1 feet and they like it very much..
same as me mentzer.. they'll come near to me when i close to tank..

looking well mate , make sure your ph is around 6 or under to get best sheen / colouration in the adult phase.

cheers col

they are found from around 7.5 down to 5 and even below in some places , every pic i have seen where the fish was caught in lower ph water have had far better shean and more purple and green colouring , at higher ph they tend to look dull with no sheen on them and mostly black only colouring. personally i would keep at around 6ph
