Depends how much you feed it. I have an albino that's a super-active eater and he went from 3" to 7" in 2 months.

normally about an inch a month. but like cichlidaddict said, depends on what you feed him.

mine went from to 2-7" quite quickly then it stopped growing longer only fatter since it was maybe one years old. i have read some of these polypterus have bad genes that they only grow to 6 or 7 inches so I guess mine has those genes she is almost 3 years old now still around 7 inches.
