Updated..these two aro's are always swimming together. Go figure.
Super worms! The choice of food for these buggers. :grinno:
Also notice the hump on the right side of the silver. Have no idea what the hell that is. Noticed it a few days ago, and no visible scars/damage to him. Seems to be a whelp or a bump. My guess is when he chases after the tinfoils now and then. :irked:
Look at the pic you posted in msg #165. The heading mentions RTG. The fish displays red coloration both on it's gill plate, scales as well as all it's 3 back fins namely anal fin, tail & dorsal. RTGs do not show such coloration.
ya the 165 is a SR that i was planning to buy its price is RM7888..but i juz sell the RTG..to buy new baby chilli red

Might aswell show mine.Jardini doing absolutely great in community.About 13" so far and doesn't even look like being the murderer everyone else seems to experience.(touch wood)Seems to be way more mellow with all the timber in the tank IMO.He actually enjoys weaving his way through it at the lower level. He is not a jumper either so far.

the sliver is the first aro for me, i was out of the hobby for 2 yrs after it jumped out from the temporary tank when i was moving. however, 1 of my friend got me a 125G glass tank for free last yr, so i'm back in the hobby ^^ and the jar was a birthday gift from that friend. it was around 5" -6", it's about 13" now, it's gettin meaner with every inch that it grows =P

Finally managed to get a picture of my speeding fish as it was turning after trying most of the afternoon no thanks to the lame, slow CMOS imaging chip on my phone (and my complete absence of photography skills ;) ).
Lost a lot of detail in the processing but you can just see that it's shiny silver on the head nd body with a metalic blue down the sides. The pectoral fins are a dusky pink and the tail end fins are all bright orange.
Bit gaudy really :D The fish is about 14 inches (TL) and is now starting to fatten up.
I'll get a proper camera soon :)

Here is 2 pics from my old jardini in a small growup tank.. Unfortunately he died when he was in my bigger tank with my pacus. Cause of death= +30cm pacu riped his head of ;( i should have waited for him to grow bigger but my pacus has always been kind to all thier previus tank mates no matter size. he was 15cm when he got killed =(

That is so sad.. extremly sad ..especially that pacu did such a thing.. i have two and they are such gentle giants.. little african cichlid lives with them..maybe it was because he hung up at the top and they thought it was food.. he was a beautiful boy.. do you still have your pacu:( Are you going to get another arrow..

He is at least 27 inches now.. last time i measured.. the other day my hubby was doing a water change and he came flying out and landed on the carpet.. he got the net and put him back.. why do arrows always think the water is better somewhere else.. must have been looking for that new river ..he is well and eating and none the worse for it..and even acts calmer since he learned theres no better place then home. But that was the first time ever with this big older guy..so watch those arows during water changes.. even the ones who never make you nervous can suddenly get a whim...:D This may end up being a double post... i submit but it does not work..
Here are some new pics

Liz here are the 6 baby aros update which was posted in your other thread.
Now bigger at 10-12 inches and transfered to a 600 litres tank a month ago.
Also bigger appetite.. And closer look at one of the Aro scales. Reds are just coming out rather pinkish at the moment.

African Arowanas
red arowana, any comments
My name is marowana (my grandmother thought I was a marijuana fish long story) and I am 7in long. I live in a 180g tank with 6 clown loaches and a crazy marble angel. I am spoiled rotten and eat to much. I like worms, crickets, beef heart, and scrimps and sometimes a few flakes that I steal from the clown loaches.

Here's a couple shots I got, best I can do with my current camera. Hopefully I'll pick up a DSLR for my bday on May 13th, wish me luck!

Anyone have any tips for clearer photos? The camera doesn't have white adjustment or anything, and these were taken with the "sports" option on.

My new silver. He's probably only 3 months old, eating well. Not a monster yet, but we all know he will be!

These tanks are so hard to take pix of. I have the jar in a 75 now, but can't get it to stop long enough to get a good focused picture w/o flash.
EDIT: oops, shoulda posted this in the baby aro thread...

Hey'all I was directed to this specific part of the forum and its looking SWEET.
Heres my arow
http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=48209&size=1 (http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=48209&size=1)
He suffers from gill curl but I'm trying to find a good deal for a bigger tank and hope that will also help clear that problem up.
My only other problem is when he has eatan and digested his food he then has a lot of energy and when I walk up to him he hurts himself on the glass almost about two to three hard blows before he realizes he needs to slow down. I think I need to spend more time with him... Yeah I will make the necessary changes.
thanks for reading.
