got one 2 weeks ago and have been very happy with it. he ate krill right away and is always hovering around. he even comes up to the glass and follows my finger.
so ive got a valentini toby in a 26 bow right now but want to eventually convert a 55 to SW and throw a few of them in there. here is a pic of when i got him the first day, he had a thin belly then but ive been fattening him up since.

I've kept C. solandri, C. valentini, and C. jactator. All three took pelleted foods. We had no luck combining species in a 29 gallon flatback hex and ended up with a divided tank. The C. solandri is in my avatar, and there are older pics of the others here: http://www.geocities.com/stella16091609/Fish.html .

tobies are supposed to be friendly with other fish but not inverts. i dont have any inverts and so far he is getting along well with a pair of clowns. i imagine if the toby ever decided to do something, he would be too slow to catch a fast clown fish.

Mine never bothered other fish or big inverts (hermit crabs, snails, starfish). They ate the heck out of some baby brittle stars and sponges though.

i might try some hermits then, because my guy leaves little scraps of krill after eating which i cant hand pick out.
