Help!

My single Dat in the 10Gal has started breathing fast, Looks like he's taking deep breaths. I tested teh water and the PH & Ammonia levels are fine. What else could cause this? His color is actually awesome, and he's swiming around. Almost looks like that when he gets excited. Good stripes, active, but just breathing heavy? Is there anything I should test for change or do?

i have the exact same problem. watch their eye. my got cloudy eye as well and didnt live. 2 of mine have died already from this problem. also after a day or so they seem to have acted "exhausted" and just park on the bottom of tank.

one has the problem right now. i added some melafix, pimafix, salt, and up temp to 81. he has been acting like this for about a 4-5 days now and so far his cloudy eye has gotten a lil better but his breathing has still been hard. he has lasted longer than the other 2 which i didnt act on fast enough. the other two died within 2-3 days.

not sure if this will work because im doing the process right now. ive done some research, but i havent read anything about this. what is weird is that i noticed their colors are very vibrant at this time.

forgot to mention. after about a day or 2 i dropped temp back to 78 hoping that he isnt breathing hard from the heat. im trying everything to save him.

Be carefull with the melafix and pimafix another member told me that the young ones are very sensitive to them and died within a few minutes after adding them:eek: . gl

yeah they are. i half dosed. sorry that i didnt mention that.

i half dosed mela and pima 3 days ago. then another half the next day. stopped. now im keeping an eye on them and ill probably do water change in the next couple of days.

so far the cloudy eye seems to have gotten better, but still breathing hard, but a lot more active than it usually is and ate a feeder guppy earlier.

I added alittle salt and turned the temp down slightly, it's at 80, He looks tired, but his eyes are clear.

He's still breathing fast eyes are clear but very lethargic. Do you think that these incidents are results of gill disease or damage perhaps evolving from parasites?

Iv' got my fingers crossed but don't like my chances :(
