I got about 50-60 ghost shrimp and put them into a 10 gallon i freed up there where the perfect conditions for them and they never bread. it just pissed me off, i even turned down the temp did daily water changes, tried it with the lights on and off low current high current... AHH, well one day i got pissed off and dumped them all into my cichlid tank and rejoiced as they where chasing them around. i started feeding the ghost shrimp i had tetra cichlid super red and it loocked so cool... and they even came with eggs and i still didnt get them to breed. i just dont know, i think they would have been hapier if i just had a bucket of them under the sink:irked:
here are two pics from when i had them, i'll try it again later on when i get my 150g setup.

Some ghost shrimp need brackish water to release babies and breed.
Cherries are much easier to breed. Just about don't have to do anything other then keep the tank clean
