I agree with all above! Silver all the way. I have had the best luck with them in brackish water. These guys can be agressive for dats also!!

I've been trying to figure that out myself. I've posed the question on some of the Asian forums and have yet to receive a satisfactory answer. The only explanation I could think of is that they send the silver dats to the U.S. because we don't know any better. :(

If they send them here Jesse, where the heck are they? I've been trying to hunt down a decent sized silver for awhile. ;)

i also askek if that was the reason :D
they should have just thrown it into the contraversial group :D

hmmm....looks like a thin bar to me

At first glance, I instantly thought silver, but the body color in the photos looks more thinbarrish. But based on the spotted tail stripe and the extra partial bars, I believe all those who have said silver are spot on and that the colors are distorted in the photos.

Silvers are far more streamlined (bullet-shaped) than any other datnoid species. They are thicker bodied, but not as tall. A thinbar is far more laterally compressed with a higher profile. Also, thinbars always have only three body bars (not including the eye bar and two tail stripes), while silvers typically have a minimum of four full body bars (not including the eye bar, two tail stripes, and the two dots on the caudal peduncle) and occasional partial bars.
