He's about 3 years old from when I bought him (3" long at Petsmart). That scar he has he just got from moving. I recently moved and redesigned all my tanks. My clown knife is still recovering :)

Will Cks get used to being out or are they just nocturnal by nature.What if there were no hiding spots,where does a 18 inch fish hide ?

It's neither. 42" is the quoted length. According to others on this board who've seen them (there are 4, I believe) all are monster size. They are @ the John G. Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, Illinois .
