Dude, seriously buy up all the cobras!! lol...they are pimpin pikes! You could easily make great sales offa them as well. And if i come back to Washington it would save on the shippin...lol...err...if i got them that is. He has a couple pikes I've never heard of before though...Crenicichla sp. 'red head lugubris'.....can't find any pictures or anything....and since they are larger he might be able to get me a pair outa them...so i am hopin i can go that way...*fingers crossed*

lol. I feel your pain. I'm considering the Cobras, but I have no place to put them right now. More importantly, I can't afford them. In a couple weeks, yea... but not right now. C'est la vie.

Yeah Rapps shippin is killer for me here...finding ways around it though...possibly ship to a bigger city and drive there to get them...but gas prices almost negates it. I got some gift certificates for my b-day thuogh!! :D...they take care of the shippin completely...but still the fish are expensive. And i want a pair...need at least three for that, specially at the size of the cobras...thats pricey!

I would have got 3 but I also wanted to get a true Aequidens rivulatus and I am limited in tank space right now, not even sure where I am gonna stick the new guys when I get them :screwy: .

I hate people who have too much money for their own good! LOL! You should just screw all the other fish and get 5 or 6 of the cobras!! :D

I just found a fish store (hidden in the ghetto) that has some decent fish. They had what they called "Golden Pike", about 4" long. Any one Know about these? They looked like the one in p-powers avatar except they had a thick black stripe running down its side (head to tail). How big do these guys get (aquarium size) and is $8 a good deal?

Was I imagining this golden pike?

Pictures would be helpful...sounds like ur describing Crenicichla sp. xingu I....except the black stripe isn't always that obvious.....great fish! They get large and aggressive, possibly one of the more aggressive of the pikes! Adults look nothing like the juv....males are an olive green drab color but still attractive, but the females take the cake, burgandy wine color, white frosting on dorsal....great fish! Gets some! U'll be in for a new kinda cichlid experience...i garuntee it!
