it will do great for a while?
it's a marine stingray.
i believe the atlantic stingray goes to fresh for: hyposalinty because they are sick
but it must return to saltwater . my own two cents

Awsome fish, I cannot wait to try my hand at rays. As a shark nut about the closest thing I can get to them is a ray of some sort.

if they are the freshwater adapted kind they will most likely die within a year with no salt, and with salt they can grow to the size of the hood of your car. Here in florida I often see ones that are pure freshwater from the st. johns river and they stay very small( I think 12-16inches), And although i personally have never owned one i have several friend that have them and kept them alive for over 3 years.
