I have an 8" gold spilo that I thought I'd share with the members here. He's my largest piranha right now, and takes down any food before it hits the ground.
if anyone could tell me how to make my images appear in the thread , instead of a seperate download ,it'd be greatly appreciated.
You also might want to reduce the size a bit.
save the pics in a picture file then when you want to post them start your post, you will need to type in at least one word, then click where it says "go advanced"
scroll down and click where it says "manage attatchments"
This will open a smaller window that contains several boxes that say browse, click the top one
now select your file and picture and click "open", repeat for any other pics youy want,
then click "upload" and "close window"
now click "submit"
if you want to add more text use the edit function.
That should work.
Nice fish by the way.

thanks,
I'm nearly positive that it's a S. spilopleura and not a mac.
he eats shell-on shrimp, and silversides.
he was ordered from aquascapeonline as a gold spilo, and from my research he looks to be just that.

Spilos and Macs like most Serras a difficult to distinguish from one another. Even Scientist are not exactly sure if Spilos and Macs are two different species. Even though I said that here is my Mac. Notice the red around his eyes? Actually in this pic its hard to tell but its there.
EDIT: ok forget the pic idea apperantly it is too big or somthing. Oh well.

Im very computer illiterate. How do I resize my image?
mbierzyc

you can open the picture in microsoft paint and use the "stretch/skew" option to just pull the picture to a smaller size, but same aspect ratio. then save the picture and upload it here.
i use adobe photoshop, but i would doubt you have that if you say you're computer illeterate.

Nice fish Bro
Any paint or photo editor will let you resize a photo. Just open that program, click on new file which will let you select the photo, find where it says resize ( sometimes listed seperate, sometimes under enhance or even edit) change the size, click save as and make sure it gets saved as a jpeg file then save it.

Actually, its the other way around. Macs are common and spilos are rare. In the hobby at least. Its just that the name, Spilo, stuck.
BTW that is him eating from my hand.
