My friend has a FH with what seems to be constipation.

Is this possible??

Also how would I go about fixing it?

Thanks,
Steve

I had one that died from constipation from eating pellets. I think you can try one of those garlic medicines and epsom salt.

Garlic juice soaked spirolina pellets, it is a bran muffin for fish.

if the FH of your frend is still eating you can try out giving frozen green peas, good for bloat and constipation.

the most important thing when your fish suffers bloat, swim bladder or constipation... is NOT TO FEED them. :D so that the digestive system will not work twice as hard. just put a heater and set it to 32deg celcius to increase the fish's metabolism. if the stomach still bulges, you may need to put antibiotics (tetracycline) to the water... 500mg every 20gallons.

hope this helps! ;)

also best to feed them with pellets that are lower in protein and higher in moisture.. but i would go with feed them two- three times aday.. 60-75 % full and also fasten 1-2 days after that.. gives them time to digest.. and become more active because they are hungry.. also keep in mind that these fish would not get to eat everyday living in the wild..
