Sweet!!!

I can't wait to see everything complete.

some pbass, a tsn catfish, johanna pike, some other s.am. cichlids that survived katrina and some pleco's, only problem is one pond keeps getting drained into the other and if you fill that pond back up then the other drains into that one so pond drainage is the key now just have to solve the problem!! any suggestions?:headbang2

Connect them via a pipe at or below grade

Try using ball valve on the pipes. If one is pumping more you can turn it down to regulate both of them. I had a similar situation. The main "pond" was a 300 gal. rubbermaid. I had a sump pump in there going to a tee. That then split into 2 70 gal. rubbermaids. The little ones were my filters. I had them filled with hyacinth and water lettuce. After the tee I had to use ball valve to dial in the flow to equal them out. Try that it should work. That system you have works great w/ a little tweaking.

I still say the best way to keep water in them both is to connect them with a pipe that you can run along or under the graound. The water will flow through the pipe depending on the water elevation above it and will equilibrate making the elevation in both sides the same, no pump, no valves, no extensive plumbing, the thing doesnt even have to be level

Looking good.....keep us updated!
