I got my tank without a brace, but the guy i got it from diy'ed a brace using silicone and a 24x18in peice of glass, its very nice looking. Has anyone else done this?

It is fine :) Is a form of Euro bracing :)
I have had a few tanks like that./. Custom tanks i've owned are like that :)
Very commmon in do it yourself glass tank :) My last one was 110 gallons :)
