Out at my work, summertime powerouts can be somewhat common. Hence in all the tanks at work, I keep extra air stones in the water; apparently our air system has a great backup generator, or something similar.

There was, until recently, ONE tank that did not have a backup supply: the Fly River Turtle tank, which also housed a few archerfish, and, temporarily, a South American arrowana.

And the power goes out one night.

And stays out long enough for the archerfish to die, for the arrowana to keel over...the turtle of course survived, and the two yoyo loaches in said tank for snail control also made it. But we lost three healthy fish.

The tank now has extra air stones, but no extra fish.

I made that mistake once or twice. Nothing worse than walking in on a tank with a bunch or corpses in it :(
