Hey
Welcome! I have a lot of lungfish and love them! Your guy is very interesting. Potential larval coloration persisting? Or maybe some residual chemical of some sort? Could we get a side shot, perhaps? I myself have some albinos (And see my avatar for a larger example of the same species.) Could you give us a little more history on the fish, and I can help you figure out the head situation. Is this your first? Jude

great looking lungfish! the coloration you see is very likely just the thinner skin covering the head, and the pigmentation of the musculature/bones of the head showing through are more transparent area. will likely be reduced as the lungfish gets larger, but only time will tell. great specimen for sure!--

Coloration
None of mine had this when they were this size, which is why I suggested potentially some kind of coloring entering the body. For example Malachite Green or something.
(I'm talking about albinos, too.)
What's the history on the fish? That might give us some insight.

albinos (or any individuals for that matter) can be quite variable; this is very likely an issue of the fish itself, and the coloration does not look straight green, just merely somewhat darker than the rest of the fish (it is greenish).

malachite green has been known to stain inactive compounds, but i highly doubt it stained this lungfish, especially since we don't see anything similar to this in smaller (and probably more susceptible) fishes--

All of our comments are merely speculation at best. We'll have to watch this fish as it grows! ENJOY!
