ya, once the triggers get some size to em, think about moving one to another, hopefully larger tank....
also, the triggers getting along even now?? is my understanding that undulates are usually relatively intolerant of other triggers... well, and also alot of other fish period...

The undulate is real intolerant of the niger there still small.3 or 4 inches.

I plan on returning the niger trigger to the lfs.Should the marroon clownfish and the yellow tang be safe with the undulate in the 55 gallon tank?

Nothing is safe with an undulate trigger. Nothing. You'll come home one day, be it 3 months or 3 years from now, and find all tankmates chewed to shreds.

I must have got bad advise from my local fish store.Ill have to get a refugium tank to go under my tank or just return the clownfish and the tang. And keep the undulate by himself.

I would return the undulate and keep the Red-tooth trigger (Odonus niger)

Even the niger will cause issues later. Triggers just don't do well with other fish in home aquariums. Most don't do well in home tanks regardless of what you do. Nigers will grow to a good 12" or more.

Keep the tang and the clownsfish.

I now have the striped trigger in the 55 gallon tank alone.I moved the tang and clown fish to a 10 gallon tank with a under gravel filter and machanical filter. He should get some size in the big tank by himself. They grow up to a foot or more.

I have owned assorted triggers for the las 10+ years and one of the absolute meanest triggers I ever dealt with was a undulatas. It was ok for a while but just kept getting meaner so I kept moving it into aquariums with larger & larger fish. At about 6" it ended up in a tank with a 16" miniatus and a 4' green moray. It killed the miniatus about 2 months later, I sold it to some guy later that week. What a bastard!!!!! YOur yellow tang will not survive in a 10 gallon. Tangs stress out and often die when cramped in a small tank. Just a thought.....
