You had better get 9 more tanks or u will only have one fat and happy RHOM.

what they are saying is if they are black piranha they should be a in their own separate tanks .. you can only house one black piranha in a tank..

Please do your research before you purchase a fish. The name "black piranha" is a common name for various Serrasalmus species such as Rhombeus, Sanchezi, Brantii, ect. All of these fish can only be kept by themselves. They will KILL each other untill one is left. Like some one said before; sell or donate the fish you can not buy seperate tanks for!

rhoms seem to be the least tolerant of the serrasalmus species in my experiences (when dividers broke down).

If that is true check them again because they are probably black pacu.
Smiley, we aren't slamming you for not knowing and I have had a lfs clerk tell me serrasalmus elongatus make great schooling fish which ends up the same way as with the blacks,ie. one fat fish and a dent in the wallet. If you want a shoal of piranha go with red bellies and even then expect to lose a couple. You could get away with keeping one adult black (rhombeus) piranha in a 55g tank for life.

Serrasalmus rhombeus can only be kept together in large public aquariums. I highly doubt you are keeping black piranha in a shoal.

Please provide images of your so-called baby black piranha, if they haven't eaten each other. ;)
