very cool. gotta love david attenborough's work. his old series 'trials of life' was definitely a classic. he has also recently filmed the Austalian lungfish for an upcoming video, should be quite impressive as well--

LUNGFISH LOVERS - If you come across this RARE book (Not so rare online) called KAMONGO - there is a very good discussion of their surviving to this day, and there is mention of quite a few of them NOT surviving the estivation process. This is one of the, if not the, earliest works known, having to do with lungfishes.

well this is weird for me as i am actually watching the programme on dvd now... weird.

Why what is he videoing for now? I was under the impression he's doing his last of the life series on reptiles and amphibians... life in cold blood.

I have seen, in several african markets ( Zaire and Guinea ) vending stalls selling the lungfish for food, inside the mud cocoon....
