heh... tried that with a few of them and the pixel by pixel colouration is soooooo shady on a couple. I hope nobody would be so desperate as to cheat. :(


Photoshop has a filter that will make a normal picture look like it was painted (very pixelated). Open it in paint, and edit with real MS paint work, and ta-dah!

how do you know who we are questioning?? personally i am questioning more than one. also take a look at the templates, people changed the size, people used typed lettering instead of freehand. if rules are going to be made enforce them.

Nice....well, I'm not trying to be a putts but.....some look like they definately resized, used another program and then edited in MS paint, filters...etc....dont get me wrong....some are just done really well.....just dont like the idea of wasted votes...;) Anyhow, I'll do some serious studying of the entries before I PM about what I think in fruadulant materiel....dont wanna point fingers at the guys who just did an awesome job.....( pretty much look at the line work on zoom in MS paint....see how pixelated they are, etc.)

The software used to make the image is listed and for two that I picked, one was Adobe Photoshop CS2 and the other was Picasa 2.6. The later must be for a drawing tablet. :irked:

They were all change from bmp file to jpg by the admin/mods so the pics can be posted on MFK.

My mistake, Picasa is just an image organizer from Google. It is not like Photoshop with drawing tools.

For the life of me I couldn't find the post that mentioned the P-bass image in a google search (I hate the comps at work).

Speaking of googled images of P-bass.... shaaaadddyyyyyy. Does anyone have photoshop? download that image and use the different filters it has. Look for the one that makes a photo look like art... (argg, can't remember the name of it).

If not that, open the alleged paint avatar in paint, and click view, custom, 800%.

Notice the meticulous pixel by pixel colouration? Yup. I've been screwing around with paint using the spray paint tool (which is really the only feasible way to have created that avatar) and tried to replicate the same technique for colouring and shading. No method I tried came close. Try it, you'll see what I mean.

I drew the pbass. I don't recall the rules prohibiting participants from using models, so I used that picture as one. If you really want to know how it was really done in MS paint, here's the breakdown.

1. Sketch lines with the Curve tool. (The 6th tool on the right side of the Tool box)

3. Use Airbrush (5th tool on the left side) and slowly fill in from top to bottom. (E.g., Bright green, darker green, brown, and black in the case of the driftwood in the back)
4. Obviously the Airbrush is messy, so I had to redraw the lines again using the Curve tool. (This explains the variable width of the lines in my avatar)
5. Use Brush or Eraser to remove any messiness outside the line

A Few of these are just WAY too clean.....the line work really speaks out.....300x300 pixels makes the lines look VERY lunky when you TRY to make a perfect circle....Shading as well....at 300x300 every dot is perdominant and is easily seen. Also, where is the creativity in that?

1. Sounds like you need to spend more time on MS Paint, a computer program, than someone's biceps. Give this a try: Launch MS Paint. Click on the Line tool (6th tool on the left side) and select your desired line width (I picked the 2nd one). Click on the Ellipse tool (last tool on the left side). Select the 2nd option with Fill & Line. Select your foreground color by left clicking on a color (e.g., black) and background color by right clicking on a color (e.g., blue); this will set your Line and Fill colors respectively. Move the cursor to the drawing space, press and hold down the Shift key while you draw a perfect circle. Pick the Brush tool (4th tool on right side), pick the size of the bush (I picked the large round one), select white and click on the surface of the circle to make a reflection of the bubble.

It is a FREEHAND design and if your going to throw a link to a famous woodblock print, show RESPECT and show the original. also, it is not EXACTLY the same and IS a tattoo style I studied, irezumi....Well, thats all taken care of........please dont flame at me, *** people are FLAMERS.;)

1. Sounds like you need to spend more time on MS Paint, a computer program, than someone's biceps. Give this a try: Launch MS Paint. Click on the Line tool (6th tool on the left side) and select your desired line width (I picked the 2nd one). Click on the Ellipse tool (last tool on the left side). Select the 2nd option with Fill & Line. Select your foreground color by left clicking on a color (e.g., black) and background color by right clicking on a color (e.g., blue); this will set your Line and Fill colors respectively. Move the cursor to the drawing space, press and hold down the Shift key while you draw a perfect circle. Pick the Brush tool (4th tool on right side), pick the size of the bush (I picked the large round one), select white and click on the surface of the circle to make a reflection of the bubble.

2. Try to color & use the right tools at the right time without creativity. Apparently you couldn't. Maybe you could help me by showing me how to filter a picture to produce such clean and pixelated line arts in Photoshop.

like... first day i read everything.
then i starting drawing on the Template.
after that... i saved it.
then next day opened it again.
started adding more stuff onto it...
and over and over eTc.

I drew the pbass. I don't recall the rules prohibiting participants from using models, so I used that picture as one. If you really want to know how it was really done in MS paint, here's the breakdown.

1. Sketch lines with the Curve tool. (The 6th tool on the right side of the Tool box)
2. Painstakingly pick and define custom colors. (This is done by double clicking on any color box in the color palette)
3. Use Airbrush (5th tool on the left side) and slowly fill in from top to bottom. (E.g., Bright green, darker green, brown, and black in the case of the driftwood in the back)
4. Obviously the Airbrush is messy, so I had to redraw the lines again using the Curve tool. (This explains the variable width of the lines in my avatar)
5. Use Brush or Eraser to remove any messiness outside the line

It took patience, perfectionism, and days to finish. It's not as simple as it sounds.

i made mine the same way, i just didnt put as much effort into it as you did. a job well done id say.

When I first opened the thread and viewed the entries I never for a second thought anyone had cheated, (I still don't). I've had a lot of exposure to paint, people can do amazing things with it.
