finally had some time to get some pics of my dats. i think theyre indonesian? you tell me. gottm for 15bucks at the lfs. they had some slightly biggers ones around three inches, but didnt look to healthy so i got a pair of 2inchers. they were shy at first, but seem to be movin around quite a bit now. i have them with my ornate. whats cool is that they randomly hang out with the ornate. oh and they tear up blood worms and rosies. now on to the pics.. it was hard to get them to stay still, so its the best i could do.

There are different species of dats from different areas.
This is the best chart I have seen:

Yes there are different types of indo dats, for instance the variant from Sumatra tend to have unequal amounts of stripes on opposing sides of the body.

Yup, and islander671 is spot on as well. There are some variants based on locality of a specific species.

Forgot to add this:
The best way to tell what dat you have is to look at the patern on the caudal fin. Some Indo dats look like STs but you can tell they are Indo dats by the smaller bands on the caudal fin and the body stripe closest to the caudal fin touches the top of the anal fin. In the ST the band doesn't pass the caudal fin.
