View Full Version : Would be Awesome If there was a Contest Aimed Specifically for MFK's with 1000 posts+

Just thinking it would be cool to see a promotion, contest, etc. for members of MFK with 1000 posts plus to compete for. :)
Nothing against the newbies but.....would be nice to see some senior members in MFK benifit from a contest and not a random person who quickly put up a random number of random posts, just to compete for a prize. Nothing against it, just would like to see members like hightimez, or ethnics, or ewurm, etc.....win, thats all

Why do I sense 50+ random posts in your immediate future?:D

I've been on a mustang forum for 4 years and only have 1600 posts. I pick and choose which posts I respond too...does that make me any less of you? :)

Not sure?....:D seriously, I make about 10 posts a day average. Would only be about a couple more days till I hit a grand....but if there was to be a contest for 1000+ MFK posters then I'd probably be a bit higher by the time that actually, if it did....come along.;)

I pick and choose which posts I respond too...does that make me any less of you? :) Not at all, Just saying that a unreachable goal of post for people who have not been participating in threads to suddenly post like a mad man to qualify for a contest is lame. No offense to anyone, just would like to see some of the older or more active members have a run at it.;)

what if it was for people who had at least 5-10 posts per day average or something. then a mod or somebody could check and see if their posts are BS or not.

You know 1000+ post is just an idea.....but a good start as a reference for a future contest or promotion or competition....made for active members in this site. Perhaps, have a Mod like Neo choose a handful of guys they see fit to qualify and have some sort of crazy competition.:) Maybe a photoshop contest for most original, REALISTIC,fantasy, akward colored arowana, p bass, etc.

Redkid, the number of posts was just an idea for a way to seperate active or senior members for a promo or what not for people who have been putting their two cents in for quite some time.;)

i think its a decent idea. cuz 200 is easy to hit and basically anyone could join the contest.

maybe we could make it "if you joined over 6 months ago and have 1000+ post" or something so we know it has some seniority. iono jus an idea. but it'd be cool to give the people who really put out more then 2 cents on a daily basis an actual chance at winning something lol

Yes, date of join is also a great way to distinguish along with number of posts, etc.

well what kind of contest are you thinking of makeing, all i hear is post talk, which i think shows nothing, becuase there are more than one member who have 1000-2000+ posts, who contribte almost none, and make 3 word long posts in the photo lounge, so seniority may just not be the way to judge this.

It will come, I have patience....Anyhow, I like how this is going. The main aim of this discussion was to give back to contributing members of MFK. If I am envolved in the competition or not. I just thought that it would be nice to see some of the contributing members of MFK have something just for them and not a random person who just made a random number of post just to qualify and win a prize. You know, give back to the community what the community has given you type of deal.;)

I agree with that as a better way of establishing who is a senior member, instead of by who is a bigger postwhore

I wouldn't qualify either way :(

Off subject but...

Another interesting feature on another forum is that after you post your thread/comment, other members can "thank you" for your input, in turn you get reputation points...

Hence you tend to trust the advice of members with rep. points vs. number of posts....

I think I mod contest would be nice... Even though I've only been on this site for about five months, I am pretty sure the mods did much more before I joined... All the contests, meets, help, I am pretty sure they deserve a contest for themselves...

how about we just qualify people for helpfullness. i know there are quite a handfull of people that are relatively new and aren't post whores that help out a lot and know what they are talking about.

how about a contest for people that have over 1,000 posts and a 24 in their screen name?:D :headbang2
