Hey, I built this tank out of 4 sheets of wood and a panel of glass, and I siliconed it all together.... it looks alright i think, so i'm satisfied.
In it dwells a house gecko....and thats all so far.
I'm switching the substrate from play sand to ground cocunut substrate tommorow.
otherwise, any advice would be much appreciated as to how the set up looks, etc.
I haven't kept any herps before.
P.S. SILICONING THINGS IS T3H SUXXORZ but i love it :)
:clap i am uber proud of your tank
........i've seemingly never owned a gecko so no advice there
;)

That looks good....aesthetically I think that the only thing missing is a screen lid that actually fits...
That would be a perfect enclosure for a trio of crested geckos. Ever heard of them before? They just eat crickets and baby food from a dish. Follow here for more info: http://www.herpcam.com/crestedgecko.htm
I used to have a house gecko. It was cool.... but it would sit around sooo still u would think the thing was dead. Then u open the top and it ****ing comes to life and starts movin so fast u can barely see it. The only direction it ever went was up and trying to go out. Other ppl i know who have had them have had em escape. SO just becareful of that.

Thanks a lot for all the nice comments.
Yes, mine is as fast as a bullet, when i got him at the store, the lady had 2 escape before she got me this one Lol XD it's a shame though.
Crested geckos look really awesome, but I think the tank is two small, they get 20cm, and the tank is 30 cm wide lol, maybe in my 25gallon?
I'm building a screen that fits lol, and have changed the substrate and setup to make it more appropriate.
Ill post some pics asap

I used to have a Crested Gecko he was awsome! I just misted him about 3 times a day and fed and watered him. Very easy to take care of, and best of all is that it didnt need a UV light.

Must be a Tokay. Those a$$holes!
I like my tokays, I love the way they make people jump when they bark and even when they bite you hardly ever bleed.

hahahah, geico, not gecko, :( i dont have the gecko anymore though, i have a green anole and an ltg. :) House gecko's are pretty tough to keep, i tried it twice, the 2nd one lasted longer, and was in a glass exo terra, and fed 2 types of food, crickets + fruit flies. the tank had a much higher humidity, still died :( Oh well, anole and ltg arent pussies, they are happy and healthy.
I use the DIY tank to keep the lizards in while i clean the exoterra tank, or keep stuff i find outside lol.
Long tailed grass lizards are great beginners lizards and look very cool. I still prefer my tokays.
