Jack Dempsey Sexing

Hey,
I just bought 2 Jack Dempseys today but dont know how to sex them.
I think they might be 2 females as they have the spot just before the tail
If i find out that i do have 2 females i will bring the fish back and swap one for what looks more like a male. OH btw, they are only 4" long.

I'm just really happy of my purchase since they are illegal in my state but i still found some. I know i have seen the sexing differences before but i would like a definite answer thanks. lol, i just fed them before with a big amount of live brine shrimp and theyre bellies are like little golf balls hahaha

i just read your post and checked my fish, if i identified them correctly then i have a male and a female! woo! lol
They look very similar though, the only difference is one has specks on its cheek the other doesnt and one has belly spots!
I wouldnt have even nticed the differences on my 2 fish if you didnt point them out! ahhhh, champion!
I think the female is a little bigger than the male right now though, they ares till only 4" long so i might be jumping the gun but i hope im not!!!

The only thing i am worried about though is that the female is more colourful than the male right now, and by colourful i mean has more of the irridescent spots....They are both scared of me too.
How do you make your fish not scared? cheers
