Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum or Pseudoplatystoma tigrinum

fasciatum according to fishbase, and tigrinum according to planetcatfish, I go with fasciatum since all scientific documents that describe them say they have verticle white stripes on them. Tigrinum is void of these. Here's a pic of a juvenile tigrinum.

mine doesn't exactly look like the one in that pic.... My cats' head is alittle broder... And ya i was looking at planet catfish.... But i still couldn't deiced witch one between the photos they have hmmm :-/ not that it's really that big of a deal, but I'd kinda like to know...

the pic is of a tigrinum, I was saying your's is a fasciatum. here's a pic of my fasciatum baby. I believe that planetcatfish has them backwards. Almost positive looking at every other site, and looking at all my books here. Verticle white stripes are present on fasciatum, but not on tigrinum.

mines almost 5 1/2" only a month and half old. Good luck with yours

hmmm mines only like 6-6.5 got him at like 4.5... but his bands were already much more brocken up then yours... The ones the lps has now are almost solid with a white stripe down the middle and whitish bellies... only like 3 inches... Same to you man, thanX

yeah tsn are like that when smaller, Their patterns break up as they grow. I thought mine was a corruscans when his pattern first started breaking up. He had all large spots, but the more he grows the more it's apparent he's a fasciatum.

here's pics of my lump head fasciatum, baby and now from 3.5" to 13.5" now. Shows the remarkable change in the pattern, and his wierd head.
