First off, for me it's got to be a good quality pic. Then it's about which is the most interesting photo- either an action shot, or clever angle or effect etc etc.

To be honest, when I look at these pics, if it is a blurry pic, or the glass is dirty etc., I pass right over it. I don't care what kind of "cool" fish it is.
I cleaned my glass, I took my pic with a crappy Fuji $100 2MP cam, and I am presently tied in 2nd place with two other very nice pictures :D

That aro pic that is in the lead is a very good photo. The subject is very nicely in focus, and the fish in the background gives it a cool effect. It doesn't matter that it is an aro, its just a fine picture, and thats why people like it....

well it seems that only super bright pretty tanks are in the running as picture 39 is not out of focus its the way the tank looks as the red and the acara cat like the lighting at one end it has a good angle and an interesting (i think) subject as the the fish swimming with the red should really be on her menu and i dont own a super flash camera but i like the picture and glad i shared it
i must say that all the other entrants are all very good and glad i had the chance to see your pictures thank-you and look forward to next months comp

No 19 is a Saber-Tooth Payara I think they are not that easy to keep (i know very little about them ). It is a predatory that can only be kept with other equally large species likes fast water and grows big.
