Very. One swipe and all the crap from your glass is gone. My skin got caught
one time when the mag float closed and it hurt like a mofo. Thats how strong it is.

Thanks. My filtration is good ( 2 canisters and 1 wet dry ) and im doing
water changes every 3 days. But im keeping a close eye on it still. Im worried
about it mauling the rays. Ive seen it happen once.. an otorongo got beat up by a
KK parrot.

It woudn't be a good idea to use one of these on your acrylic tank unless you wanted to ruin it...

Red Tail thats the nicest looking parrot I have seen.. I really don't like the regular ones at all but I really really like this one. Do you already have him home? Has he been agressive towards any tankmates if he has tankmates?
bluedempsey
09-28-2005, 2:11 PM
i have had kk parrots before
they get alot larger then the reg. parrots
but the downside is: more aggressive, actually opening and closing mouth
and size. they would chase my rays around all the time :( .......
so i fed it to my dog
my normal parrots could careless about the rays, plus normal parrots
can't bite them as well! ;)

Dan - thanks man. The pictures dont actually do it justice. This thing is red as can be
and bigger than my fist... its bigger than a big mac box.
unknownuza - Thanks for the compliment. yeah this bad boy is in my tank now.. it really catches your attention as it is so red. It sort of looks more like a compact midas than a bp.
Blue Demp - i was aware of KKs reputation so im keeping a close eye on it and the rays. So far so good. Doesnt even bother the smaller golden severum. But it all can change overnight. Hope he behaves.
Nate - im indifferent about regular BPs but KKs are always an exception to me.

I'd really like to get my hands on a female bloodred KKP. I couldn't find one here in the Philippines, they're all orange or white. Crossed with FHs with big koks, most of the time produce show quality kamfas. But we seldom get ones that have very good coloration, mostly pale shades of red or pink.

This is a pic of my Grand Sumo KK Parrot that a friend of mine was able to get for me from Taiwan. This particular type of parrot is generally not shipped in to this country but he was able to get one shipped to him with an order of african cichlids that he received.

DUDE!!!!
thats 100% NOT dyed
those colors are way too bright to be dyed
the fish would be dead from all that dye in its body to make it that bright
