I have two of these things, kinda look like egg pods to me, They were in the LR I got. They are both on the same piece of LR.
The first one is the size of the end of your pinky finger and the other is just smaller then a quater.
Can anyone tell me what they are.

looks like dead/rotting live rock to me.. .wave your hand infront of it and try to "shoo" it away, it should break away and into your filter, think of it like tooth decay, the longer it stays on, the deeper and wider it gets.

Yeah def a sponge. It may be dead from the move but it may not be. If moved quickly the water on the outside seals them so air cant enter.
Just leave it alone and see how it goes.

Cool a sponge. Well the rock was never out of water except for a few seconds while I transfered them out and into the new tank.
Is there a way I can tell if they are alive or if they die will I know.
Anyway thanks for the help.

If its been setup a few weeks they would more then likely be fairly rotted by now if they where dead. If its just been setup you will notice them falling apart eventually.

Well its been a week and a half now and they still look exactly like they looked when I put them in so hopefully they stick around.
