Once I had an 8incher that I kept with a payara., dats, and cichlids. I came home to find my payara cut in half, and the RTCxTSN losing part of it's tail. I ended up keeping them by themselves until someone bought them all, and decided it was too much for him. But the moving of the fish was too much and killed them after I added salt to supposedly aid their stress.

size and age of both?
and how long together?
i have my micropeltes sharing a tank with my striata, and they look like best buds.
the striata is almost 3yrs old and the micropletes maybe 3 months?
they both about the same length with the micropeltes a little fatter.

it is a striata, and it should be bigger,,, but i underfed it for most of it's life in captivity... so, their growtrh rate can def. be slowed.
but a micropeltes, i think no way.... at an early age, they must eat their full, or they go crazy...

how often have you been feeding your striata?
Even at once a week I would have thought it would grow MUCH more than that in 3 years.
I'm not exaggerating here, in just a few weeks my striata has grown from 3.5 inches to around 6 inches. It's now as long as my oscars.

for the past 2weeks, i've been feeding it everyday.
it's got to keep up with the micropeltes.
it's already started growing more.
