I kept these a while back. However, I only kept them to be around 4". Here (http://www.cnr.vt.edu/efish/families/greensun.html) is a site I have had in my favorites for a while. Hope it helps.

they eat anything, emphasis on carnivorous foods, though.
they prolly grow to 5" very quickly, and progressively slow down, prolly top around 8" after 2-3 years or so. I'm only conjecturing, as I haven't kept one personally.
they tend to be extremely aggressive fish, right in the realm of any mean cichlid.

really ive got a tank of green sunfish, mean they are, but i catch them on a small jig, didnt know theyd eat snails a cigeratte butts...lol
They are scrappy and while they can reach over 10" this is very rare, they can breed at 3" and seldom get wore than 7" and are easy to breed, I had a friend that had 3 breeding pairs in a 120g wide tank. They make nests and do threat displays but the nests can be almost close enough to touch each other. They will eat everything from bread crumbs to gambusia and crayfish, they love earthworms. They will adapt quickly to cichlid pellets, they pretty much can be treated like any other sunny. They will get full sized in 1-2 years then very slowly grow a little more each year and can live at least 5 years. They are bold little fish and have a lot of personality, like bluespots they will come over to the glass to see if you have food.

wild fish often have all sorts of nasty parasites both on them and within them, you oughta consider ordering them instead... course the latter gets expensive with shipping
I don't think any of our sellers are handling them right now but Jonah'Aquarium generally carries a variety of sunnies. I don't usually mix wild caught natives with non-natives and if you do remember to saltbath and quarantine first.

May not be legal to buy/sell them where you live - although legal to posess. For instance, here in Florida, you have to have a fishing license, take them in a legal fashion (no shock fishing, etc) at a legal time/place, and if there is a daily bag limit, whatever is in your aquarium counts "permamently" against that limit - so if you have 3 bluegills in a tank, you can only keep 47 per day fishing. But buying/selling game fish is illegal.
