Noticed my auratus wasn't eating or being very sociable (always hiding) and finally the other day my g/f thought she looked sick. She lost a lot of color and her buccal(?) turned black. I finally got her out of the 125 and put her in a small breeder and looked at her up close. Immediately I thought she was holding so I pryed her mouth open with a blunt tooth pick and saw eggs. She's been in the breeder ever since. I can't way to see some fry running around.

The eggs looked really beige and she wound up spitting out 2 of them, I guess from the stress. Any special care for her and them?

Did you buy the fish holding eggs or not? If not then when they hatch you will have to keep them as they will be a cross breed(hybrid):nilly: based on your fish list. Try to find yourself an auratus male so as to keep the species pure.
:naughty:  :headbang2 :nilly:

Nope, it's hybrids. I think it spawned with another hybrid I can't identify (not in my list). I know you diehards like keeping the species pure but it's just "free fish" for me :) I can always get rid of them to the LFS to go in their "assorted african cichlid" tanks.
